The CityLight poster is a single-sheet backlit showcase poster. The majority of the 80,000 or so CLPs in use in Germany are found in waiting rooms at public bus/tram shelters and train stations in cities with 100,000 or more inhabitants. They are increasingly seen as stand-alone units at locations in city centres and pedestrian zones with high foot traffic. By placing the posters behind glass, providing backlighting and creating the appropriate design for the display case, companies can attract the attention of pedestrians. To ensure the posters achieve the maximum brilliancy with backlighting, the poster is generally reverse printed using two or three colours.
The billboards are placed in the local network, with costs ranging between €5.60 and €16.00 per space and day. This creates a city-wide, comprehensive, high-quality advertising presence.
